Research

I am an observational astronomer working in both optical and infrared wavelengths. My research interests focus on stellar variability, especially on young pre-main-sequence stars. Specifically, I studied the stellar rotation, the structure of the inner accretion disc, and the star-disc interaction of T Tauri stars. My current works focus on the eruptive behaviour of young protostars, to understand how stars gain their mass in the first million years of their age. I am also hunting young giant planets by searching for periodic accretion bursts on young stars. I am also working on follow-up studies of transient astronomical events, such as supernovae and X-ray outbursts.

Benefiting from the Chilean telescope time, I am working with both spectroscopic and photometric data from VLT, Gemini, Magellan, SOAR, VISTA and other Chilean facilities. I am also actively involved in several international research groups, such as the VVV and ODSSYEUS surveys.

I am currently holding the China-Chile Joint Research Funding, which will support collaborations and connections between the two countries. I am also a junior member of the Millennium Institute of Astrophysics (MAS).
