Research

Observational cosmology. Galaxy formation and cosmic evolution of the interstellar medium.

My research is focused on exploiting sub-millimetre facilities to understand the physical conditions of the gas and dust in galaxies at all redshifts. My goal is to tackle the physical mechanisms that control the star formation activity in galaxies, and how these have evolved from the early Universe up to present days. My research uses all sorts of multi-wavelength evidence, putting special focus on the synergy between deep ALMA and JWST observations. I have a FONDECYT project and I am part of the Millennium Nucleus for Galaxies (MINGAL), projects that I use to develop my research in a collaborative effort.
