The Institute of Physics and Astronomy (IFA) was created in 2005 under the aegis of the Universidad de Valparaíso, as a result of constant institutional growth in various areas of science. It offers undergraduate and postgraduate studies in physics and astronomy, and has an international team of researchers of high academic level. In addition, there is a deep commitment to society, which translates into a large annual program of astronomical science outreach.
