AN UPGRADED VERSION OF BSE FOR CV POPULATION STUDIES

We here provide an upgraded version of the BSE code suitable for population studies of Cataclysmic Variables (CVs) as described in Belloni et al. (2017).

The file CV_BPS_README.h provides a relatively detailed description of how to use this version of BSE for CV binary population synthesis.

In case you publish results based on this code, you should cite the following papers:

The upgraded code contains mass transfer and angular momentum loss prescriptions suitable for CVs and the option to include consequential angular momentum loss (which makes entirely sense as CVs certainly loose angular momentum due to nova eruptions). If you use consequential angular momentum loss (and you should) you might, in addition to the papers listed above, carefully read King & Kolb (1995) in order to make sure you know what you are doing.

Please report any bugs you may find to one of us:

Enjoy!!!
